June 27, 2025 | Kigali, Rwanda – Lendsqr, a global Lending-as-a-Service (LaaS) company committed to expanding access to credit across emerging markets, has announced the launch of Lendsqr for Non-Profit: a completely free version of its digital lending platform designed specifically for non-profit organizations and development finance institutions (DFIs).
The initiative is open to qualified non-profits across the world, including those in Rwanda, many of whom provide access to credit at subsidized rates but often lack the technology needed to operate efficiently or scale their work. With this move, Lendsqr is eliminating a major barrier for mission-driven organizations: the high cost of modern lending infrastructure.
“At Lendsqr, we’ve always believed that technology should be an enabler, not a bottleneck,” said Adedeji Olowe, CEO of Lendsqr. “If you’re a non-profit or a DFI offering loans to small businesses in rural Huye or Kigali, you shouldn’t have to spend millions to build or buy a lending platform. We’re offering ours at no cost, because we’ve benefited from others’ generosity, and now it’s our turn to pay it forward.”

Lendsqr itself has been supported by major technology partners in its early days, including Microsoft, Google, and AWS, who waived infrastructure costs and provided resources that helped the company scale. It also received backing from public institutions like the Federal Government of Nigeria and innovation partners like OnePipe.
“We know what that kind of support can do for a young organization,” Olowe said. “Now we want to offer that same support to non-profits that are working on the frontlines of financial inclusion.”
The free version of Lendsqr includes the core tools needed to run a lending operation: loan application portals, customer onboarding, repayment tracking, and credit decision engines. It also supports offline borrowers and includes options like guarantor-based lending, equity contributions, and manual loan processing.
“This is not a stripped-down version of our product,” said Olowe. “It’s the same system powering large-scale lenders now offered to non-profits because we believe they should have the same tools.”
The first beneficiary of Lendsqr for Non-Profit is FATE Foundation, a Nigerian organization founded by Fola Adeola, co-founder of GTBank. Since 2000, FATE foundation has been supporting entrepreneurs and SMEs through mentoring, business education, and access to capital, often at very low interest rates. Lendsqr is now powering FATE Foundation’s lending program as part of its commitment to impact-focused institutions.
Organizations interested in Lendsqr for Non-Profit can apply for access through an open review process. Those that meet the criteria will be onboarded at no cost and given full access to the Lendsqr technology stack to power their lending programs.
